Underestimated

Sometimes I feel like people think I am not capable of much because I have not had permanent employment for the past 20 years. I chose to be a good mom and that made steady employment impossible. That is not a punishable offense, yet somehow I feel like I am being penalized for it.

Two days left...

I have two days left of officially volunteering. I don't get paid to be there, yet I love being there. This is the saddest I've ever been about leaving a "job".

Does this make anyone besides me want to grab their child(ren) and move to another country? What is wrong with this world?

My husband taught himself how to make fried pork skins today.  I am so screwed.

It's official.  I'm destined to be a fat woman.

Why is looking for a job so difficult?

Looking for a job used to be so easy.  Walk into a business, fill out an application, get a phone call for an interview, and then they either hire you or they don't.

Cake!

Now you have to tailor every resume to match up with the job description so that it gets past the software that scans what you submit to see if you have all the right buzz words or else it gets kicked out and is never even seen by a human being.

It's exhausting.

Where can I buy that?

Can someone please tell me where I can buy one of those cool mirrors that, no matter what you are wearing, says, "Oh YEAH, you make that look GOOD!"

Everyone else in the Antelope Valley seems to have one except me.

Gray-haired old men with long pony tails.

"Oh YEAH, you make that look GOOD!"

Shorty shorts with cowboy boots (on women of all shapes and sizes).

"Yep, you make that look good too!"

Orange hair.

"OMG, it's FABULOUS!"

Seriously, where are these mirrors sold?
